4.3 Decolonisation and Independence

1. After the Second World War, many countries in Asia and Africa became independent from European rule.  

   दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के बाद, एशिया और अफ्रीका के कई देश यूरोपीय शासन से स्वतंत्र हो गए।  

2. These new nations faced problems like poverty and lack of resources due to long colonial rule.

3. The IMF and World Bank were made to help rich, industrial countries, not poor, developing nations.

4. As Europe and Japan recovered after the war, they needed less help from these institutions.
